About us

Cinema Design in Sweden specializes in sound and image for professional cinema, film festival and film post production.

We have extensive experience in troubleshooting and servicing existing cinema equipment and do design, sale and installation of new equipment. We also perform project planning, project management and consulting of newbuilds and refurbishment of cinemas or studios, all according to the cinema industry's specifications and accepted standards such as DCI and SMPTE.

The company was started in the mid-2010s in Strömstad. Today we are based in Ronneby but have our staff in Malmö and in the Stockholm area.

Whether it is digital cinema, analog 35 or 70mm film, sound, screens, automation, conference technology, cinema seating and all its peripherals, we have carefully selected suppliers we work with and have in our many years of combined experience good knowledge of solutions at all levels. We often perform everything from guiding in complete solutions of auditoriums to conference adaptation and automation, to installation of used equipment for projects without budget. We always follow up and offer service and maintenance of equipment we or others have delivered.

We have the knowledge and licensing required to comply with the practices and standards of our industry and required from our suppliers. We put a lot of energy to be up to date to be able to recommend the right solutions for our customers.

We also offer sales of equipment such as projector lamps, filters, HDMI and other cabling, image and sound distribution for conferences, etc.

We keep a lot of products in stock so they can be delivered quickly. For example, the most common projector lamps, sound processors, amplifiers and projector spare parts. We also have a lot of used gadgets at low prices or for lending until new equipment can be purchased if the accident should occur and the theater cannot run its shows.

We are not really a rental company, but if temporary rigs are needed to show moving images according to DCI specifications, we can often help.

Lillebjörn Gyllfeldt

Lillebjörn Gyllfeldt

CEO and Sales Manager

Lillebjörn has a background in sound and light in live theater but eventually slipped into the cinema technology where he first worked as a projectionist for many years. When the big roll-out of digital cinema took place, Lillebjörn started working as a cinema technician and pretty soon also as a project manager. Once again, he was recruited back to his former employer, the largest cinema operator in Scandinavia, where he worked as Technical Manager.

When the founder of Cinema Design, Ulf Qvicklund was recruited by the American audio company QSC and decided to sell the company, Lillebjörn was asked to take over the leadership and he could not resist the temptation of taking over from Ulf who is a very good friend of his and during all the years in the industry his mentor.

Lillebjörn lives in Malmö.

Tia Marklund

Tia Marklund

Head Cinema Technician

Tia started his career in the industry as a projectionist in the early 1990s. After a few years in various projection booths, he found an even greater interest, installing and servicing cinema technology. For the past 15 years, Tia has worked as a cinema technician and with project management of installations.

Tia has a very broad knowledge and experience from his many years in the field in both large complex installations with the best possible equipment to small cinemas and film festivals with limited resources. Tia still enjoys working out at the cinemas when he is not involved in planning and projecting.

Magnus Eriksson

Magnus Eriksson

Cinema technician

Magnus is a veteran in the industry. He is well known around Sweden's cinemas and film festivals. He is an exceptional technician and can solve the most impossible problems. Despite his preference for analog, preferably older technology, he is very knowledgeable of the most modern equipment. His passion for cool old stuff often means that after rummaging in the car, he can repair old fine equipment where most others have failed.

Adam Lövin

Adam Lövin

Cinema technician

Adam has been in the industry since 2013, when he was one of the initiators of a cinema close to the capital. Someone had to handle the technology and so he slipped into cinema projectors, sound, content management and everything else that goes with showing moving images in a cinema. After working at several of Sweden's film festivals and a bunch of Stockholm cinemas, he joined Tia and Magnus on some speaker jobs. Apparently, lugging heavy boxes on scaffolding was so much fun that he stayed.
